TUNNEL TO VIADUCT 8K RUN/WALK RESULTS HERE
Where is the event located? The event will start & finish at the north entrance to the new SR 99 Tunnel at 6th & Harrison. All pre/post event activities will take place at the Seattle Center.
When is the event? The event will take place Saturday, February 2, 2019. The event will start at 7:30AM with wave starts based on your estimated finish time.
What is a wave start? A wave start is beginning a race in smaller groups based on estimated finish times to ensure all participants have ample space to complete the course unobstructed.
What is the cost to participate? The entry fees are based on participant registrations. The cost for the first 5,000 participants - $35, participants 5,001 - 15,000 - $40, and any registrant after 15,000 - $45. Prices increase to $50 January 31 & February 1
How do I register for the event? You may register online by clicking the red “REGISTRATION” button. OR, you will have the opportunity to register in person at the pre-event packet pickup located at various Road Runner Sports locations taking place January 28 - February 1. There will be no event day registration.
I’m already registered, where do I collect my race materials? You will be able to collect all materials at the pre-event packet pickup located at various Road Runner Sports stores the week prior to the event, January 28 - February 1.
Monday, January 28 - Road Runner Sports, Kent Station
Tuesday, January 29 - Road Runner Sports, Bellevue
Wednesday - Friday, Jan. 30 - Feb. 1 - Road Runner Sports, Green Lake
*Each packet pickup event will be from 12:00pm - 8:00pm
I cannot make it to any of the pre-race packet pickup events, are there other options? Yes – race day packet pickup is available but will cost an additional $12 during the registration process.
Packet mailing is no longer an option.
Can someone else pick up my materials at one of the packet pickup events? YES! We encourage it. Please have an email or letter with approval from the person you are collecting for.
Will I receive a medal upon completion? Finisher medals will not be given at the finish line but you will have the option during your registration process to purchase a commemorative medal for $12 (SOLD OUT).
If I am unable to participate, will refunds be offered? Unfortunately refunds will not be offered for the 8K run/walk.
If I cannot afford the registration fee, will free entries be offered? We will be offering a limited number of full scholarships and partial scholarships. Please visit the “registration” page for details.
Where can I place my belongings while participating? Gear Check will be available during the race on Seattle Center Grounds. We will only accept the plastic bag you receive during packet pickup. Outside bags will not be checked.
Are baby strollers allowed? Yes, we ask that you start in one of the later corrals to ensure faster participants have room to run and pass. *Strollers and babies do not need to register for the event
Can I bring my dog to participate? No, due to the congestion of the starting area and course, we ask that all furry friends be left at home.
Will water be offered on course? Yes, there will be one on-course water station offered near the midway point.
Is there a course time limit? Yes, all participants will need to clear the SR 99 Tunnel by 10:30am and be off the course by 11:00am.
Where should I park on race day? Seattle Center parking lots will be open on race day but have 100% been pre-sold during the registration process and we are out of. parking stalls at Seattle Center. Area surface lots available on race day. We also recommend public transportation (Metro Bus or Light Rail). The Monorail will open at 6:30am to transport participants from Westlake Center to the start line.
Where does my race entry go? Revenue from the fun run and bike ride go towards the overall event budget. We’re keeping most of the event free; our partners and sponsors’ contributions, plus fun run/bike ride fees, make the event possible while saving taxpayer dollars.
IMPORTANT STREET CLOSURE INFORMATION
All streets along the 8K run/walk course will be closed during the race as well as roads near the Seattle Center area to ensure the safety of all participants and attendees. Thank you for your patience on race day.
